BOSSIER SCHOOLS: Parents/Guardians, we want to make you aware that a parish-wide lockdown drill will take place this morning, Friday, September 13 at all schools to practice emergency safety procedures. This is only a drill.

Hey Wranglers! September is Attendance Awareness Month and we are celebrating amazing attendance each week with a Fun Friday! This week's Fun Friday is Jersey Day! If your child was present EVERY day this week (9/3 - 9/6) with NO tardies or early checkouts, your child may wear a jersey (with uniform bottoms).

Wranglers, don't forget that our Online Spirit Store closes August 31st at Midnight. Be sure and get those orders in for this round! Order here: https://tlrodes24-2.itemorder.com/shop/home/

Did you know we have designated Buckle Zones?
We understand the need to buckle your little one in his or her car seat, so we have two parking lot areas you can pull into to make sure your child is secure. This will also keep our car line moving as we try to load our Wranglers as quickly and safely as possible in the afternoons.

A few reminders....

Hey! We've got an app for that! Have you downloaded the new BPSB app? This is a great way to stay connected to your child's school and teachers!
In order to connect to your child's teacher using "Rooms', you must first create your rooms account! Check your email for the invitation (see pic). It will come from accounts@edurooms.com and will be in the same email you used in OnCourse Connect.
Need Help? Check out these parent resources on the BPSB website: https://www.bossierschools.org/page/parent-technology-resources

Reminder: T.L. Rodes 'Meet the Teacher' is Tuesday, August 6th from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. This is for Kindergarten & First Grade. We can't wait to see all of our Wranglers! 🤠

Say “hello” to two-way messaging and classroom announcements in the Bossier Parish Schools app! With the addition of Rooms, our district app keeps getting better.
Parents/guardians check your email with instructions to sign up and access new features.

Bossier Schools has revised its cell phone policy in response to a new state law that restricts students from using cell phones and other electronic devices during the instructional day. Please note the following revisions:
Cell phones must be turned off and stowed during instructional time, including from the time students get on/off the bus or in/out of a personal vehicle while on campus;
Electronic communication devices, including but not limited to personal computers, laptops, electronic instruments, iPads, iPods, tablet devices, e-readers or similar devices, must be powered off and properly stowed for the duration of the school day.
Each violation will result in the collection of the cell phone/electronic device. More information regarding disciplinary action can be found in school handbooks.
*Please note the revised policy does not apply to students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP)/Individualized Accommodation Plan (IAP), Section 504 plan or Individualized Health Plan that requires use of an electronic telecommunication device.

The Bossier Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual 'Pack the Bus' school supply drive benefiting Bossier Schools. We hope you'll help out with this year's event! Come by the Wal-Mart Supercenter Thursday, August 1 from 11:30 to 1:30 and drop off much needed supplies to help our teachers fill the gaps in their classrooms.

Parents/Guardians - Be on the lookout for an email on AUGUST 1 with instructions and details about Rooms, the exciting feature for parent-teacher chat.
Download the Bossier Schools app now so you'll be ready, and be sure to enable notifications!

Military Families: Don't forget the BPSB Military Back to School Night is Tuesday, July 30th at the Bossier Civic Center from 5 - 7 p.m.

Grades 3-8 LEAP Student Reports from Spring 2024 were emailed to the primary parent/guardian’s email address today. The email will include instructions for accessing your child’s score reports. If you do not receive the emails, please check your spam folder and ensure that you are checking the email account listed as the primary parent/guardian in OnCourse.

Our T.L. Rodes teachers and staff are working hard to prepare for our upcoming school year. Please consider showing them some love by helping provide door prizes for our annual lock-in. If your family or business would like to donate door prizes, gift cards, teacher accesories & supplies or a gift basket, please see the graphic below for contact information. All donations are due by August 1st. Thank you!

We've had several questions regarding registration! Maybe this will help:
*If your child was enrolled in Bossier Schools last year '23/'24 (even PreK), you will need to do Annual Registration! This is updating contacts & providing 2 CURRENT Proofs of residence & checking some important boxes.
*If you did Kindergarten Registration back in April/May, you are good to go as long as it was accepted.
*If you are new to Bossier Schools, you will complete new student registration.
*If you are transferring within Bossier Schools, there are instructions for that too!
Here's more info:
https://www.bossierschools.org/page/registration

Registration for all Bossier Parish students begins today, July 8. All new and returning students in grades K-12 are required to complete the registration process for the 2024-25 school year. To learn more and begin registration, visit www.bossierschools.org/page/registration.
