Our fall Book Fair is coming up in ONE week! It will be held in the Sun City Library from September 30th - October 4th. Students will have an opportunity to shop each day during their enrichment period. We are thrilled to announce our Outstanding School Support Employee of the Year for 2024-25, Mrs. Kendall Wilson!!! Mrs. Wilson serves as a paraprofessional at our school and has made such an impact in the short time she has been at Sun City.
Her peers call passionate, positive, resilient, helpful, supportive, dedicated, kind...the list could go on and on. Thank you Mrs. Wilson for all you do for our students and staff. You are a STAR!!!
Our 2nd graders have been studying how seeds grow and learning about what seeds need in order to grow. Miss Hawkins' students broke into groups and planted radish seeds in different parts of the classroom to see which area helps seeds grow best. These 2nd graders are officially plant scientists and are even keeping a seed observation journal!

We will also continue with our celebration of Attendance Awareness Month. Students can wear sunglasses with their best school uniform.
We are simply STARstruck by our new mascot costume and our mascots: Barrett and Maddox! We can't wait to put these mascots to use this year!

BOSSIER SCHOOLS: Parents/Guardians, we want to make you aware that a parish-wide lockdown drill will take place this morning, Friday, September 13 at all schools to practice emergency safety procedures. This is only a drill.
If your child rides bus #52, your children will be delivered home by bus #226. The BPSB Transportation Department sent a message out at 3:20, but there was an error and we are aware that many did not receive it. Students left campus about 15 minutes ago and should arrive home shortly. Thank you for your patience.

Sun City will have a 2 week (4 classes) PAKS Karate Character Education Course. The course will be at Sun City on Sept. 17 & 18 and Sept. 24 & 25 in the gym from 3:15-4:00pm.
