Good afternoon Stars! September is National Attendance Awareness Month and we are celebrating the importance school attendance plays in ensuring our students receive quality education. Consistent attendance boosts academic performance and grade-level proficiency, fosters, social connections and peer relationships, and encourages responsibility and a sense of routine. Each Friday, we'll be encouraging attendance with special days for students.

Reminder that tomorrow is JERSEY DAY! Students can wear their favorite team jersey/shirt with uniform bottoms (no cost)! If students would like to pair their jersey with jeans (shorts, skirt, pants) and receive a Happy Belly's treat, the cost to participate is $5 paid via SchoolCash Online. **Happy Belly's orders will be submitted at 9:00 am on Friday, so late orders can not be accepted. Good morning Stars! Deadline to sign up for Running Club is Sept. 9th. The first practice will be Sept. 11th and the Sun City Running Club will participate in the Kids on the Run Race Series. These races are sponsored by SportSpectrum and occur monthly from October to April. ● You will be required to register your student for Kids on the Run online at https://runsignup.com/Race/LA/Shreveport/KidsontheRun. Jep and Jessica Robertson have written a children’s book about adoption. We had a STAR-tastic FIRST day yesterday at Sun City Elementary!!

Due to some bus delays, we are running about 20 minutes behind schedule for buses departing campus and for beginning car line. All bus riders have now exited campus and are safely on their way home. We appreciate your patience! All students should be delivered home in about 30-45 minutes.

We are so excited to welcome all of our students back to school tomorrow!!! Our front doors will open at 7:45. Parents can walk their students to their classroom if they choose. If you need to find school bus number as well location and time for drop off/pick up, please click "Find My Bus" on bossierschools.org.

We are SO excited to see all of our new and returning families TONIGHT at Meet the Teacher! The doors will open at 3:45. Make sure you stop by the Library to take a photo with our Olympic backdrop because this year our Stars are "Going for the GOLD!" We will also have a cart with free books for families. Make sure you check it out!
