Friday, October 4, 2024 is Grandparents & Grownups Day! We are excited to have a picnic lunch with you! Please meet your child on the playground by the teacher's labeled canopy tent. Students may choose to eat a school lunch or eat outside food brought by you. You may bring picnic blankets, chairs, tables, outside food, or umbrellas to help enhance your picnic lunch fun! After you finish eating, you are welcome to visit the Book Fair in the School Library. If you wish to check your student out of school, the adult name must be listed in OnCourse and the adult must present a photo identification. The schedule for each class is attached in the images . We look forward to seeing you at Curtis for Grandparents & Grownups Day!

October is here! We are excited about upcoming events in October.
1. Grandparents and Grownups Day is a fun time to enjoy a picnic lunch with your student.
2. Fall Break - Schools and Centers will be closed this week!
3. Red Ribbon Week - This is a national week to teach students about saying no to drugs! Each day is a special dress up day.
4. Rescuing Recess Rally - Come and enjoy recess with your student on our playground. Concessions will be sold. A fun time for the whole family.

We celebrate Red Ribbon Week during October. Red Ribbon Week is a national week designed to inform students to say no to drugs!
We will celebrate October 21 - October 25.
Each day is a special dress up day. This year's theme is "Life is a Movie! "

Curtis Tigers, Elm Grove Middle is hoisting a "Mini Eagle Cheer Camp" this fall on October 26th as a fundraiser for the cheer program. The mini camp is open to students in grades K-5. Cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt, cheer clinic, and a performance at the October 29th home football game!

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, in honor of SOBO Spirit Night, students may wear jeans with a Curtis Spirit Shirt! Come out to Preston Crownover Stadium at 6:00 to walk in the parade of schools! We love our SOBO community!
On Friday, September 20, 2024, in honor of Freedom Week, students may wear jeans with a red, white, and/or blue shirt!

*Students received information about joining the Curtis 4-H Club. Our enrollment drive will run from Sept. 9-Sept. 23. Please visit our 4-H website to learn more about 4-H and be sure to JOIN the CLUB if you are interested!

*5th Grade cheerleaders must join 4-H, and 4th graders interested in becoming a cheerleader or officer must join and be an active 4-H member during 4th grade.
*To be fully enrolled in our club, parents must register members online in addition to the white/green enrollment forms. Be sure to initial in all places on the back of the green paper and sign the front and back pages.

We have so much going on during the month of September. September is Attendance Awareness Month and we are planning on celebrating our students that are present at school everyday for the month of September
Mrs. Robin does a great job of promoting a love for reading in the library! Please read her attached Library Lagniappe Newsletter.
Also, We are very proud of our September Students of the Month! These students will have their picture posted on the front bulletin board, play bingo with Mrs. Bird, and eat skittles!
